Travel Note
You can reach Shelter Island via the North fork (vineyards and farm stands) or the South fork (The Hamptons). Both are beautiful and take about the same amount of time. Shelter Island is accessible only by ferry. The ferries carry both passengers and vehicles, so you may bring your car on to the island. Please see 'Ferry Information' page on our website for fares and schedule.
