I’m Elizabeth’s oldest sister. Yep, I’m number 1 of 8 girls! Elizabeth has been my partner in crime, confidant, and friend. We have shared the ups and downs of many life experiences together throughout our years of homeschooling through science experiments in the kitchen, playing soccer, or making applesauce as a family every fall. A little bit about me, I work as a cardiac nurse. For fun I enjoy reading, hiking, traveling, camping, and painting. I’m a longtime friend and self-proclaimed brother of the groom. Currently I work as a software engineer in Japan. I’ve known him since middle school, and I can say with confidence that I’ve done more with him than with anyone I know. From playing in a band, to designing a video game together, and everything in between; we’ve done it all. On top of that, he’s one of the few friends I can just sit down with and talk about anything with. I met Yong in 2014 when I was his orientation leader. Our TCK backgrounds, interest in sports, and stupid yet relatable sense of humor inevitably developed our friendship effortlessly. I’d often joked about the low chance of him finding a lifelong partner given his focus on academics, but my brief yet meaningful time with Elizabeth and her family last year proved me wrong; he is capable of finding such a wonderful person with a family that anyone would love to be part of. For half the 18 years I’ve known Libbi, she was my (first) piano student. Now she’s as close as a sister. My life dramatically changed when I became Phoebe’s mom (on Libbi’s birthday) last November and I’ve found a lot that used to matter doesn’t so much anymore. Hi! I'm Rohan and I go to school with Yong. Over the last few years, he’s grown to be one of my closest friends and I’m thrilled to play a role in his wedding! We’ve had an esoteric mix of adventures. From our time together, Yong’s commitment to rationalism and faith has always inspired me. I can think of few people who are as intelligent and driven, yet also compassionate and committed to doing what is morally right. I have much respect for Yong and I can’t wait to see him and Elizabeth together in Boston.

I have known Libbi since the summer of 2015 when my research advisor asked if I would room with the new transfer student. How blessed I am that that girl was Libbi! We quickly became good friends, even rooming together our senior year. Over the years, we have spent fun times with each other’s families, hanging out in Chicago, and rooting each other on through big life decisions. It was also through the physics department and Elizabeth that I got to know Yong. Hello! I met Yong-Chul during my time at Hope College where we bonded over our faith and desire to learn. Honestly, it was more like I was struck by his commitment to excellence and was inspired to slumber no more. I am originally from Ghana, and moved to the U.S 5 years ago for college, where I studied Chemistry. I am currently completing my first year of medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
