Hiking

Hiking

Asheville has some incredible hikes—many just a short drive from The Crest Center. Check road closures first. The hurricane affected the Blue Ridge Parkway and some areas are still being repaired. Craggy Gardens (35 min drive) Short and scenic with sweeping mountain views—especially beautiful at sunset. Black Balsam Knob (1 hr drive) Open, grassy balds with 360° views. It’s a go-to spot for stunning sunset hikes. Catawba Falls (40 min drive) A peaceful, forested hike that leads to a beautiful waterfall—great for photos! Graveyard Fields (1 hr drive) An easy loop with waterfalls and wide-open meadows. Beautiful in fall or summer.
