This is a must do, if you can. Built in the 13th and 14th century, this is a historic royal palace that requires tickets to take a tour. It was also prominently featured in the fifth season of Game of Thrones. Highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as they sell out everyday. Consider the heat when planning your visit!
16th century gorgeous Catholic cathedral that is the largest Gothic church in the world (and one of the largest churches in the world). Its bell tower, La Giralda, can be seen throughout all of Seville and its tombs and crypts contains former kings, queens and Christopher Columbus. You can see a small part of it without a ticket, but need to purchase tickets (IN ADVANCE) to see it all, including climbing La Giralda for one of the best panoramic views of the city!
Large, beautiful plaza lined with tiled alcoves and nice architecture with a moat and big water fountain. You might recognize it from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones! A map of every Spanish province lines the plaza in alphabetical order. Be sure to also check out the Parque de María Luisa nearby too.
Here are some great centrally-located gardens that we enjoyed: - Jardines de Murillo (Murillo Gardens) - very pretty walk with vine-lined walls - Jardines del Prado de San Sebastián - right next to the Plaza de España. There is a cute bar right in the center (Premier Garden Cocktail Bar) where you can grab a drink and cool off in the shade. - Parque de María Luisa - another pretty green space directly adjacent to Plaza de España
