Act One The story of Levi and Jimmy is twelve years long. It involves a future attorney, a struggling actor, multiple cities, two graduate degrees, thousands of miles, millions of problems solved, life-long supportive friends, loving families, two Louisiana brown dogs, and a beagle. Most of you know the story, because you were there... They found each other by chance, one of them in San Antonio and one of them in New York City. One of them thought the other had too much attitude for his own good, and the other thought the first one could be trying to kill him. They met face-to-face on a Fiesta weekend in April, and they spent the summer as friends, laughing and dancing, and running around the streets of New York until the wee hours of the morning. And then, on a snowy and extraordinary New Year’s Eve, they became a couple. One had waited for what he wanted, and the other had come to his senses. Years in New York followed, then Austin, New Orleans, New Braunfels, and Houston. One dog became 3, a few recipes became a cookbook, potted plants became a backyard, and 2 young men grew up. From the first time Jimmy saw Levi and wondered what it would be like to have a boyfriend who was so handsome, to the moment, nine years later, when Levi proposed on a balcony in Puerto Vallarta under the New Year’s Eve fireworks, they have adventured, laughed, and encouraged one another to succeed. Most importantly, they have built their life together, growing hand-in-hand into the men they are today. Act Two After they got engaged, Jimmy and Levi spent a whirlwind fifteen months planning a wedding as big as the love they felt for each of the friends and family members who have journeyed with them. The invitations were mailed and the tuxedos arrived from the tailor, when suddenly a pandemic overwhelmed the whole wide world, necessitating a slight change of plans.
