Finding Each Other in Old Town Alexandria

November 26th, 2018* The Day It All Began!

It started with a few simple messages, that left us finding one another in between holidays. Dorian was returning from his Thanksgiving holiday at his parent's home, oddly on a Monday evening, with the intent to get home and settled for the upcoming week. Inspiration struck to ask if Leslie would be available for a date that evening. By working some creative timing into Dorian's travel plans and Leslie moving mountains (of paper) to get out the door in time, they forged ahead through the flood that would be the topic of much conversation...oh yes did we mention the Potomac was apparently flooding Old Town? All this with the addition of a jokingly very forward request from Dorian to crash on the couch on their first date, as his new car was at risk of being closed off in the parking garage due to the flood. Conversation for both of them, surprisingly ranged from family, interests, work, hobbies all the way to religion and to the ever so dreaded and potentially hazardous politics. Something neither try to approach in civilized conversation let alone a first date. As grace would have it, as it had through that entire evening, their feelings, ideals, and political positions aligned beautifully. They both left each other that evening open to another date as they were surprisingly excited about each other, but suspicious of their initial feelings toward one another. The weekends, however, from that date to their Christmas break were numbered. In an attempt to not seem too eager they both strategically planned their weekends together. It was by the second date they both knew their was an attraction and by the third that Leslie would let Dorian kiss her for the first time. They both separated went to their family homes for the holidays to find themselves communicating more and more, leading them them both to wonder what it would have been like to spend Christmas and New Year's together. They did just that the following year and have since decided to do it forever.
