FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lee Tennant and Blake Davis
These are the questions we anticipate, but if you've got a runaway imagine and come up with more feel free to text us directly.
Question

How did you guys meet?

Answer

Why, a dating app of course! Lee and Blake were scrolling Hinge on a fateful day in early October, 2017. Lee characteristically made the first move, Blake immediately started badgering her with personal questions, and the rest is history!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome to all pre- and post- wedding festivities but are not invited to events at Ravenswood Event Center.

Question

Should I rent a car for the weekend?

Answer

We don't really think you need it, unless you plan on traveling between the city and suburbs. Chicago has great public transportation and just about everything we do will be in a 5 mile radius and an easy el ride. Ridesharing, public transit, rented bikes, and scooters can get you where you need to go. Lee and Blake lived here for 5+ years without a car until dog ownership changed the game.

Question

Will there be food options for me at your reception? (vegan, gluten free, allergies)

Answer

We'll do our best to accommodate even the strangest dietary restrictions. Vegan? No problem. Vegetarian? See previous. Gluten free? We've got you. Water intolerant? Not much we can do for you unfortunately, but kudos on making it this far in life. Please note specific needs or allergies when you RSVP. Our caterer can accommodate whatever is needed.

Question

Do I need to get deep dish while in Chicago? If so where should I go?

Answer

Listen, we're not those hard-liners who say you haven't experienced Chicago until you've had deep dish. That's like saying you haven' t really experienced New York until you've seen a rat carry off a toddler, or that the essential LA experience involves spending six straight hours sitting in traffic. We're also not interested in the debate over whether it's truly "pizza". Life's too short, and Blake's not trying to shed blood on his wedding day. What we will say is that it's very good, and worth allocating a meal to if you can. Lee's preferred option is Pequod's. The cheese carmelizes around the edges to make it extra satisfying. It can be hard to get a reservation, but delivery and carry-out are viable options. Blake loves Pequod's, but for first-timers recommends 'ol faithful: Lou Mal Nati's. They just never miss. Gino's is excellent, but pace yourself as it's heavy even for deep dish. Pizano's is like Lou Mal Nati's with an extra stick of butter in the pan. Uno is a classic take. Giordano's is not deep dish -- it's stuffed. Stuffed is worse than deep dish, regardless of whether Derrick Rose endorses it.

Question

What's the meaning of life?

Answer

Oh, geez. Didn't expect to get this one, though it's definintely frequently asked. Our take is that as long as you're spending your life bringing joy and minimizing suffering, you're on the right track. To that end, come to our wedding and celebrate with us!
