The Wedding Website of Carla Lease and John Scofield

We were officially married in a private ceremony in the garden of an Edwardian castle on Vancouver Island, BC on Sunday, July 17. In deep contrast to this formal event, we will be hosting an additional nuptial celebration, welcoming our local friends and family, at a honkey-tonk roadhouse in the Northern California redwoods on October 1. It wouldn't be an old-fashioned hoedown without music, so we'll have a full stage setup ready, so that our musician friends can contribute to this honeymoon hootenanny! If you'd like to present anything from a song to a short set, email carlabelle@sbcglobal.net. There's already some great talent on the bill, including Red Meat, 67 Deluxe (with members/special guests from Mingo 2000, playing some of their most danceable tunes!), and the Fisherman! Whether you feel the music in your heart, your mouth, your hips, your fingers, or your feet, come join us in celebratory song and dance, food and drink, and revelry at one of our favorite places!

Wear your decadent duds and frilly finery if you please, but keep in mind that the venue is an old honkey-tonk roadhouse!

Join us for a reception at one of our favorite Bay Area spots, a deep-woods shack in the Santa Cruz mountains, originally built as a blacksmith shop in 1879. It looks every bit of its 143 years, with a slumping porch, western façade, and tree-stump chairs, but with a new stage, Michelin-rated chef, and history hosting the likes of Ken Kesey, Hunter S. Thompson, and Joan Baez, we think you'll agree this old cider house is a rocking joint to throw a party!* We'll be offering up a roast pig and kegs of good beer and only ask that you bring your fine self, your dancing shoes, and a side dish or dessert to share. * Please note, this is a bar, so no kids allowed.
