Matt was the captain of the swim team at the college they both attended. They met through Leah's roommate in the fall of 2006. They hung out occasionally, with other friends or at the dining hall. After Leah graduated in 2009, they went their separate ways. Leah and Matt reconnected in January 2013 after Leah moved back to Long Island. The next several months involved many trips to see Matt in NYC, with Leah looking forward to seeing him more and more each time. On November 3rd, 2013, Leah and Matt decided to start a relationship. During the next three years, Matt and Leah saw each other on the weekends, either at Matt's apartment in NYC, or at Leah's place on Long Island. By the summer of 2016, they had decided it was time to move in together, and they got their first (and current) apartment in Manhattan in November 2016. In October 2017, Matt took Leah for a walk through Central Park. She had a sneaking suspicion for a few days that something was up. They went to Bethesda Fountain and Matt told Leah to look at a boat that was passing through the pond. He quickly disappeared and when she turned around, he was on one knee, with a ring, asking her to be his wife. It's been quite a journey so far, and they cannot wait to see what's in store for them next!
