Leah and Megan met 17 years ago while living in Korea and have remained close ever since. Though Megan now lives on Long Island and Leah in Michigan, they’ve continued to visit regularly, sometimes meeting in Las Vegas for a girls’ getaway and other times catching up closer to home. Most recently, Megan, her husband, and their three children spent a weekend at Leah and Dejan’s lakehouse, another chapter in a friendship that has spanned nearly two decades.

Dejan and Vlade have known each other since infancy, growing up across the hall from one another in Macedonia. Though life has taken them thousands of miles apart, their friendship has remained steady. They still talk daily, keep their long-standing soccer rivalries alive, and place the occasional friendly bet when Dejan visits home. Leah recently had the chance to meet Vlade in their hometown, making a lifelong bond feel even more meaningful.

Eloise (Ella) is Leah’s niece and the daughter of her oldest sister, Lydia. At the time of the wedding, Ella will be 17 and preparing to begin her senior year at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. She is active in her youth group and has a wide range of interests, from debate to piano to cross country. Ella is currently working toward the rank of Eagle Scout and recently raised funds to build shelving and organize a donation storage room for The Bowery Mission, making a real difference for people in need.
Hamza Sharif

Hamza met Leah and Dejan at work several years ago, and the professional connection quickly became a lasting friendship. Originally from the UK and now splitting his time between there and Canada, he has remained closely connected despite the distance. Over time, he and Dejan grew especially close, bonding over shared interests and an easy rapport. They can spend hours talking technology, investments, music, and fitness, with sharp wit and great banter woven throughout.
Estella Dugger
Bridesmaid
Estella is Leah’s niece and the daughter of her sister, Lucinda. At the time of the wedding, she will be 16 and preparing for her junior year at York Academy in York, PA. A young woman of many talents, she plays bass guitar and piano and has a growing interest in forensics and politics. Estella recently returned from El Salvador, where she has participated in several mission trips, an experience that reflects both her deep compassion and her willingness to step outside her comfort zone.
Farzin Khaleghian
Groomsman
Farzin met Leah and Dejan at work, and their connection quickly grew into a close friendship. Over the years, he and Dejan bonded over their shared immigrant roots and the experience of building a life in America. Farzin now lives in Texas with his family and is an exceptional host. During a recent visit, Dejan and Hamza were treated to a tour of Houston, Austin, and the surrounding areas, including a stop at NASA, where Farzin helped Dejan pick out the perfect souvenir for Leah.
