The Motown Museum, also known as Hitsville U.S.A., is the original Detroit home of Motown Records—now preserved as a living tribute to its legacy. You’ll step inside the actual recording Studio A, tour the restored offices and upper-flat where Berry Gordy and family once lived, and see priceless memorabilia, costumes, photos, and artifacts from Motown’s golden era.
The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is one of the premier art museums in the country, home to more than 65,000 works spanning ancient to contemporary art. Its Beaux-Arts building, designed by Paul Cret, is itself a masterpiece — and among its most famous highlights is Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry murals, which wrap around the museum’s marble court.
