Getting to Sayulita!

International Airport - PUERTO VALLARTA (PVR) Sayulita is approximately 45 minutes north of the airport. TRANSPORTATION: We recommend pre-arranging a car service from PVR to Sayulita. Roundtrip transfers are ~$130 per car and are typically Suburbans that can fit up to 7 people, though smaller or larger van options can also be arranged. They will have a cold water or cerveza waiting for you upon pick up! Also the drivers will make a stop at a grocery store on the way to Sayulita if you would like to stock up on anything. Transfers can be arranged through your hotel, airbnb, or on sayulitalife.com. We highly recommend reaching out to Alejandro at MexVacay Transportation. https://mexvacay.com/puerto-vallarta-transportation/ We do not recommend renting a car, though once you get to town, taxis and GOLF CARTS are available for rental to get around. All golf cart information can be found in Q+A.

Sayulita Lodgings

Sayulita is the closest town to our wedding venue, located only a few miles north, reachable by car (~10 min) or golf cart. Sayulita is a smaller surf town known for its beaches, relaxed jungle beauty, and excellent food. Most accommodation options in Sayullita are boutique hotels rather than resorts. Visitors often prefer to stay in individual villa rentals or Airbnbs/Vrbos, to which there are plenty in town! We want to give you some insight into the different areas of town and encourage you to find the accommodation that best suits you. You should know that EVERYTHING IS WALKABLE—IT'S A SMALL TOWN! Welcome dinner is located on the south side of town and Teitiare Estate is about a 10 min taxi south. NORTH SIDE - The north side of town is across the river bed - this area is a little sleepier and a little further from the lively town, though this is home to the best beach spots. Also worth noting, the sun sets over the mountain just south of town so lodgings on the north side provide the best sunset views! SOUTH SIDE - The south side of town is close to nightlife and more tourist beaches, offering surf lessons, fishing, and whale-watching charters. Depending how close to town center you are, It can be a bit noisy at night. CLOSE TO THE PLAZA - Sayulita's central plaza and heart of town have a vibrant nightlife. This is your place if you want to be the center of the party or looking to adventure without a long trek home. www.sayulitalife.com is a great website if you're looking for casitas or rentals while joining us! Some properties do not have their own websites, therefore using Sayulita Life or other search engines like Bookings.com and Expedia will have the most extensive list of lodging options. If you prefer to stay in a larger resort, check out Punta Mita, which is 20 — 30 minutes south of Sayulita.

Travel Note

Punta Mita

Punta Mita is smaller than Sayulita and located about 10-12 miles (~25-30 min by car) south from our wedding venue. There are a number of larger name-brand resorts in this area or located on the strip of beach between Punta Mita and our venue if you're looking for more modern lodging options or hoping to travel on rewards.

Other Casita or Hotel Options

Casa Pata Salada- located on the south side of town, across from the beach and our welcome dinner restaurant. Excellent reviews and location if wanting a view of the beach and town! Avela Boutique Hotel- Located just off the Punta de Mita highway and about 1 km from the center, Avila is one of Sayulita’s most beautiful and spacious hotels. Some rooms have kitchens and parking is free. La Esquina- If you want to be on the beach and want more a home than just a hotel room, check out La Esquina. The condos all have kitchens, dining area, AC and every unit has a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. There’s a nice swimming pool here too and overall, I think this is my go to recommendation for Sayulita. There are options for up to 4 people in a condo, so it’s a great option and value if you’re traveling with friends. Don Bonito- If you want the most photogenic hotel in Sayulita, look no further than Don Bonito. The upscale boutique hotel is tucked away from the crowds, but still close enough to all the action. The pool is small, but it’s nice for a dip. Casa Selva- Bungalows built into the mountains on the north-side of town. This jungle complex is just a few minutes walk away from a quiet beach and a 15 minute walk to town. Distrito 88- Adults only with airy and open rooms. There’s a pool and sunbathing lounge area and you can see the ocean from many of the rooms. The location is great because you’re in a quiet spot but only a few minutes walk from the town and beach.
