The very first time we met, I was a Senior in high school and Seth was a freshman at St.Ambrose. I went to Ambrose for the weekend for a Halloween party and some of my friends were mutual friends with Seth. Needless to say, we all hung out, however Seth and I did not hit it off right away. In fact, he tried to hook me up with one of his soccer recruits! After that weekend, the next time I saw Seth was Homecoming at Ambrose. I was now Freshman there and Seth was a Sophomore. Seth had broken his leg playing soccer and since he couldn't play, he was finally able to attend the homecoming festivities. We saw each other at a tailgate party and began talking. Seth then asked one of my friends for my number and the rest is history. Seth and I always say, it was destiny for him to break his leg that year :-)
We were in New Zealand traveling the South Island with the one and only Brad and Sierra in the big Green Jucy van. We decided to take a day and explore the "eighth Wonder of the World", a.k.a Milford Sound in the Fiordland National Park. Visiting the fiords was top on Seth's to-do-list in New Zealand. The day started out of course with rain and cloudy skies because 9 out of 10 times, it is raining in the fiords. However, I knew the day was going to be special the minute we started driving into the park. I have never seen mountains and landscaping that majestic in my entire life, it was incredible. When we got to Milford Sound, there was a small break in the rain so we decided to make the most of it and walk around. Seth and I walked out on a rock formation surrounded by water on either side. The clouds finally broke through enough we could see the tip of Mitre Peak, so I of course was trying to get Seth to take a selfie of he and I using the go pro. When I turned around to see if he was getting it set up, he was down on one knee asking me to spend forever with him. I was in such shock my response was "are you serious?" and started tearing up. Seth's next response was "are you going to say yes?!" I of course said "YES!" Sierra being the sly lady she is, was the one who slipped Seth the ring 5 minutes before and snapped some incredible photos of the whole thing. To say I am lucky is an understatement. I could not have dreamt up a more perfect proposal.
