Matron of Honor
Corey and I first met when I got hired to teach fourth grade at the same school as her, and we’ve been inseparable ever since! Thanks to Corey for giving me the courage to go on a date with JJ—especially since she was always the first to point out that I should give him a chance because of his nice white teeth and smile. She’s always down for a country concert or a spontaneous trip to Nashville to attempt some line dancing. With a soft spot for all her farm animals (especially mini Highland cows) and dogs—and a tendency to impulsively add more to her collection—she keeps life fun and full of laughter. She’s my go-to girl—whether it’s a morning phone call confirming what lessons we’re planning to teach that day in school or an evening chat to figure out which nail color we should pick on our way to the salon. No matter what she is always there and is truly that friend with a heart of gold! Corey—I literally could not imagine my wedding day without you right beside me!
Best Man
Shawn and I met back in our early 20s (most likely I can't recall of an exact time and place because of a few too many Busch Lights) and we’ve basically been attached at the hip ever since. He’s fun to be around, but let’s be honest — he’s a 70-year-old man trapped in a 35-year-old body. He complains about loud music, grills like it’s an Olympic sport, and would probably rather be in bed by 9 p.m. We’ve spent countless weekends getting into just about anything, talking fantasy football strategy like it’s life or death, riding side-by-sides, and pretending we still bounce back like we used to. Shawn is the one person I can go to about anything — life, family, finances, why our fantasy team is terrible again this year, or where to hide the body without a question asked. He’s brutally honest, completely trustworthy, and one of the best friends a guy could ask for.
Bridesmaid
Sarah was my roommate in college and teammate on the Marshall track and field team, and she’s been keeping life fun since freshman year! Always the life of the party, she has the most contagious personality! A true lover of popcorn and dancing, she also has the incredible ability to nap absolutely anywhere. With her wild curls and even wilder spirit, there’s never a dull moment when Sarah’s around. Sar—I can’t wait to have you next me (and tearing up the dance floor with me) on my big day!
Groomsman
Mike — better known as "Cug" — is my cousin, but over the years he’s turned into the big brother I never asked for but definitely needed. We can talk about anything: life, family, work, food (a lot of food), and of course, our Italian roots. In the winter, you’ll find us hitting the slopes, trying to outdo each other, and pretending like we’re Olympic-level skiers all while trying not to go home hurt. Cug’s loyal, dependable, and always there when I need him — whether it’s serious advice or just someone to roast me for fun. He’s family through and through.
Bridesmaid
Taylor is my ride or die and one of my college besties from our days on the Marshall track and field team, where we bonded as long jump buddies. We’ve shared so many unforgettable memories—from dressing up as unicorns for Halloween, hitting every football tailgate, or grabbing our favorite hibachi lunches together. Even though we don’t live in the same college apartment anymore, she’s always just a FaceTime or text away. Taylor is loyal, fun, and the kind of friend who would drop anything for the people she loves. Tay—I’m so grateful we get to celebrate together and make memories at my wedding that we’ll talk about forever!
Groomsman
Ron and I first met about 6 years ago on a hunting trip in Montana — nothing says “lifelong friendship” like chasing elk and hoping one of us hits where we are aiming. Ron and his wife, Corey, actually introduced Lauren and I… so technically, all of you can thank (or blame) him for this wedding happening. Since then, there have been countless hunting trips, concerts, football Sundays, and plenty of events with our ladies (where we both pretend we planned the night out). Over the years, Ron’s gone from a hunting buddy to one of my closest friends — the kind of guy who’s always up for a good time, a good laugh, and probably another “one more beer.”
Bridesmaid
Alex is like the sister I never had! She is always up for a girls’ day, trying fun cocktails, and whipping up the best snacks for Bachelor and Bachelorette nights. She has such a generous heart and truly loves seeing everyone around her happy. A dedicated dog mom to her bestie, Bolt, turned into an amazing real mom to Grace, Alex is the kind of person who’s always ready to help—and she’ll even do some top-tier online research to back it up. If she wasn’t an orthopedic PA, she should absolutely become a full-time wedding planner—she’s extremely organized and can tell you all the do’s and don’ts of wedding planning. She has been incredibly helpful in our preparation for the big day, and her unwavering support means the world to me. Al—I’m so lucky to have you be a part of Team Bride on our special day!
Groomsman
Ty is my soon-to-be brother-in-law — though honestly, it feels like I've been part of the family for years. Standing at 6’5”, he’s a big guy with an even bigger heart. He’s funny, sarcastic, dramatic (in the best way possible), and one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Whether it's golfing, watching football, or talking sports - Ty is the guy. We also share an unbreakable bond built on our favorite pastime: teaming up to make fun of Lauren, this is an art form. There are countless inside jokes and our ongoing mission to survive — and laugh through — life surrounded by the ladies in our lives. He’s also insanely competitive — family game nights can get intense. If you’re keeping score, so is he… probably on a spreadsheet somewhere. But at the end of the day, Ty’s the guy you can count on for a laugh, some sarcasm, and genuine support.
Bridesmaid
My soon-to-be sister-in-law, Alyse, is always up for a good laugh—especially when it comes to teaming up with me to make fun of JJ (a role we’ll be lifelong teammates in!). She’s open to doing or trying just about anything, as long as her busy schedule as a PA, hockey mom, home remodeler, and dog mom allows. No matter how hectic life gets, Alyse always makes time for family, showing what a truly sweet soul she has. Alyse—I’m so excited to grow even closer (adding another “sister I never had”) and make countless memories together as an official Rettura family member!
Groomsman
Justin is my brother-in-law — and honestly, the man deserves sainthood for putting up with my sister. He’s funny, sarcastic, and just the right amount of inappropriate to keep things entertaining. When he’s not cracking jokes, Justin’s usually manning the grill like a pro or living his best life as a full-time hockey dad. He’s the guy who can make everyone laugh, feed the whole crowd, and still show up with that “I’ve got this” attitude. All jokes aside, Justin’s an all-around great guy — loyal, hardworking, and the kind of person you’re lucky to have in your family… even if his sarcasm should come with a warning label.
Junior Bridesmaid
Lexi is bright, spunky, and always full of energy! She loves hockey, the outdoors, and adores her Uncle JJ and Aunt Lauren… even if hugs aren’t always part of the deal! She’s also the first one to pick up and love on our fur baby Prim (aka Hotdog) whenever they get together—her personality shines through in everything she does. Lexi is sure to add plenty of fun and laughter to our special day.
Junior Groomsman
Austin is a little guy with big personality and an even bigger heart. He is an awesome hockey player, expert fisherman, and Uncle J's favorite hunting buddy. His energy, skill, and enthusiasm make him a joy to be around and we’re lucky to have him standing with us on the big day.
Flower Girl
At not even a year old, little Grace may be our tiniest member of the wedding party, but she’s guaranteed to be the cutest flower girl for her Auntie Laur and Uncle J’s wedding! With her bright eyes and chubby cheeks, she has a special talent for melting hearts and stealing smiles.
