PLEASE stop here on your way in , they offer information and maps!
$10 entrence fee but a must see. This is the most popular beach, and there is purple sand! There is a 2 mile narrow and winding road through redwoods that will eventually lead to the beach that you take off of HWY 1. There is a very small yellow sign that says "narrow road" on the west side of HWY 1, that will be the turn to take. It is very easy to miss!
Drinks and food with an AWESOME view.
There is a short walk to see the McWay Falls. The falls are on Julia Pfeiffer Burns Beach, not the same as Pfeiffer Beach. McWay Falls is about 10 miles south from Nepenthe. Park on the west side of the road.
We recommend Deetjens for breakfast!
Pfeiffer Falls Trail: 1.4 miles roundtrip from trailhead. Easy hike. A scenic hike along Pfeiffer Big Sur Creek through one of the park's finest redwood groves ends at a 60-foot high waterfall.
Beer!
I think this is the best beach in Big Sur, which is why we would love to hold the ceremony here if the weather is nice. I wanted to add it to the map for reference.
Jason and I hiked this trail down to Jade Cove. It was VERY steep to get down, we didn't find any jade in the cove but we did along the trail! It's a very pretty hike/walk along the bluff, the trail is mostly flat unless you decide to make the climb down.
