Joe and Laura Beth met in the Fall of 2019 when they both auditioned for their university’s production of ‘Little Women’. From the moment they were introduced they both knew there was something special between them. You could say it was love at first sight! Joe was cast as Laurie and Laura Beth was cast as Amy - the two characters whose unlikely romance underscores the entirety of the play; resulting in their marriage by the end. Throughout the course of the production, the two became good friends! Their similar sense of humor and love for classic musicals, combined with their ridiculous backstage shenanigans made for quite a match on and off the stage. Despite all of the fun, the two began to develop feelings for one another that superseded that of the characters they played on stage. When the production came to a close, LB immediately began to reach out to Joe in an attempt to maintain the relationship, and Joe was quick to respond in kind. The two knew they had found the one they had been waiting for. The end of their relationship onstage sparked the beginning of a relationship that would last a lifetime. By December they made things official, and began to write the script for their life. If you ask either one of them when they knew they were going to marry the other, they will both tell you about the final scene in the last performance of Little Women, and the feelings they shared with one another as they played husband and wife. In those precious few moments they knew they were created for one another, and they both knew then that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. And they were right. “I’ve loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. What would be more reasonable than to marry you?” - Little Women
