If you're flying in from out-of-state, the most efficient way to reach Springfield is to fly into either O'Hare or St. Louis Lambert and get a connecting flight to Capital Airport. Alternatively, you can rent a car from Chicago (~3.5 hour drive) or St. Louis (~1.5 hour drive).

The Amtrak!!!

Both Laura and Joe Biden believe that taking the Amtrak from Chicago into Springfield is a great way to reach central Illinois from the city. The train station in Springfield is very close to the hotel/all wedding events other than the actual ceremony, for which there will be shuttles to and from the venue.
