Things To Do

Food & Drink

Here are some of our favorite spots to eat/drink in the capitol city: Food: Maldaner's Obed & Isaacs Curate Vele Saputo's Gallina's The Feed Store Loukinen's Maid-Rite Drinks: JP Kelly's Obed's Buzz Bomb Terra Firma Ad Astra Breakfast/Brunch/Coffee: Moxo Cafe Biscuits and Brunch Custom Cup Obed's

horseshoes

For the uninitiated: "The horseshoe is an open-faced sandwich originating in Springfield, Illinois, United States. It consists of thick-sliced toasted bread, a hamburger patty or other choice of meat, French fries, and cheese sauce." While Travis strongly resisted having a horseshoe bar at our wedding, you can find Laura's recommended shoes at these places (everyone has a favorite, these are mine, yes I know D'arcy's isn't on here, deal with it): Obed and Isaac's The Corner Pub Westwood's Lodge Dublin's Springfield Carriage Co. *I typically get buffalo chicken or another option like philly cheesesteak, but hamburger is the norm!

Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum

212 North 6th Street, Springfield, IL 62701

Our favorite tourist attraction! The library always has great exhibits and is well-worth a visit.

Lincoln Home National Historic Site

413 South 8th Street, Springfield, IL 62701

I know you're shocked, but here's another Lincoln recommendation! The neighborhood is so well-reconstructed.

For all the days along the way
