Flight
SeaTac is the closest airport. Once you're there, make your way to downtown Seattle to catch the ferry to Bainbridge Island. Options to get to the ferry are public transportation (LINK Light Rail), Lyft/Uber, or renting a car. Renting a car is a great option if you would like to explore Bainbridge Island outside of the IslandWood campus, or are planning to extend your trip after our wedding to explore more of Washington!
Travel Note
Step 2 in your journey is to board the ferry to Bainbridge Island. The ~35 minute journey will give you panoramic views of Puget Sound, the Seattle skyline, and Mt. Rainier (on a clear day). The ferry station is in Downtown Seattle on the waterfront. To get there, plug in "Seattle Ferry Terminal" to whatever navigation app you use. The terminal is on Alaskan Way. When you arrive, make sure you get a ticket to Bainbridge (the other option is Bremerton, which you don't want). If you are walking on to the ferry, follow signs for "Bainbridge Island Walk-Ons" to head inside the terminal and buy your ticket. If you are driving onto the ferry, follow signs for "Bainbridge Island" and buy a ticket from one of the drive-through kiosks. The employees at the kiosks will provide instructions for which lane you will wait in. After you are in your lane, you may park your car and wait for the ferry to load. You do not need a ferry reservation. Please check ferry times (linked below) and make sure you arrive early. If you are walking on, arrive 30 minutes early. If you are driving on, arrive at least 1 hour early. Lines can get long on summer weekends! Please do not hesitate to reach out to Laura and/or Peyton with any questions about ferry logistics!
Travel Note
Friday August 30, 2023 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm If you are walking onto the ferry, we are providing a shuttle to take you to IslandWood from the Bainbridge ferry. To meet the shuttle, please walk off the ferry and walk to a coffee stand called "Commuter Comforts." The shuttle will be right by there in that parking lot. It's a less than 1 minute walk. If you are arriving later in the evening, you are responsible for your own transportation (cab service listed in the "Getting Around The Island" section on this page). A shuttle will be provided on Sunday morning as well to get back to the ferry and will run from 8am to 12 noon.
