FAQs and Tips

If you have any questions, reach out to Lara or Tom. Here are a few FAQs we anticipated and some tips for your time in DC if you are visiting.
Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Our RSVP deadline has passed and online RSVPs are disabled on the website. If you have had a change of plans and can no longer attend, please let us know. Our final day to give a headcount to the restaurant is March 1st.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

Yes! See the "Registry" tab here on our website. Zola is set up so that once you purchase a gift, we are notified and we can have the gift mailed to us when we are ready. That way we can be certain gifts don't arrive at the house while we are away on our honeymoon.

Question

Should we bring gifts to the wedding?

Answer

We prefer that our guests do not bring gifts other than cards to the wedding. The benefit of our registry is that we can receive gifts by mail when it is convenient. Our wedding coordinator already has so much to do the day of the wedding. We won't have time to unwrap anything until we return from our honeymoon, anyway.

Question

Will the menu be inclusive of dietary restrictions?

Answer

Clyde's has assured us that they will be able to provide meal options for guests who are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free when you place your meal orders. We have tried to make sure there will be enough options for everyone to choose from throughout the night, from the cocktail hour to dessert.

Question

Can we climb the horse, or sit on it for a picture?

Answer

No. Sorry, Dad. But, you can stand beside it and take a picture.

Question

Will there be parking at the church, or Clyde's?

Answer

There is a paid parking garage at both the church and Clyde's. The venues are only a block apart so you can pick one or the other and walk between them. Colonial Parking is at 732 6th St NW and is the most convenient parking location for leaving after the reception; there is a discounted rate with validation at Clyde's and an elevator to the back of Clyde's that takes you right into the parking garage. There is also a garage at the church, which you can enter from 8th street at 701 8th St NW. The daily rate there is $15 for evenings and weekends, but there will also be validation available at the church before and immediately after the ceremony.

Question

How do I get around on the metro?

Answer

UPDATE: Yellow line south of L'Enfant plaza will is shut down through May. This won't affect you on the in-town green/yellow stops since green is still running, but for anything south of L'Enfant they will only have shuttle buses available. Please consider alternatives. {End of Update.} Metro is a very affordable way to travel around DC and save the headache of driving in traffic and parking. The wedding will take place at the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro, which is located on the red, green, and yellow lines. Maps and instructions for purchasing a fare card are on the website, which you can view by copying and pasting this link into your browser: https://www.wmata.com/rider-guide/new-riders/index.cfm

Question

What can we do to protect ourselves and others from COVID at the wedding and while we travel?

Answer

We would feel awful if you get sick after attending our wedding. If you are not vaccinated yet, please get the vaccine as soon as possible, and take any recommended booster shots before the wedding. We also recommend that all of our guests take a home COVID test before traveling to or attending the wedding. If you have a positive test or symptoms, please protect yourselves and others and stay home.
