The Columbia Gorge is filled with countless waterfalls tumbling down the Cascades Mountains towards the Columbia River. It would take a lifetime to explore them all, but we have listed some of our favorites below. These waterfalls vary from short walks on paved surfaces to longer day-hikes. - Latourell Falls (Main waterfall is a short walk, but the 2 mile loop hike is highly recommended) - Starvation Creek Falls (0.2 Miles, some tricky footing to cross stream and climb up to base of waterfall) - Tamanawas Falls (3.3 mile hike, moderate difficulty, technically closer to Mt. Hood than the Gorge) - Multnomah Falls (Tallest waterfall in Oregon, very beautiful, but extremely popular waterfall, expect crowds)
With trails ranging from easy to expert, Hood River is a great place to explore new areas by foot, by bike or on horseback. And, if you want to learn a new sport—from fly-fishing to sailing to mountain biking! Some of our favorite outdoor activities near Hood River are listed below: - Hike up to Mitchell Point (Hard 1.7 miles, some of the best views of the Gorge from a rocky cliff. Not for those afraid of heights) - Visit Historic Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood - White Salmon River Whitewater Rafting - Hood River Mountain Bike Adventures
