We love your kids, and would love to see them the weekend of the wedding, however kids are not invited to the ceremony and reception. Theresa Neidrauer (Lauren’s mom) will be coordinating a babysitter to stay at her AirBnb for all of the kids, so please coordinate with her at (561) 713-0711 if you are interested.
Hood River is one of the most fun towns in Oregon! Situated right in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, there is endless adventure, beer and wine tasting, and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Hood River is also fairly easy to get to, being just under an hours drive from Portland International Airport.
Cocktail attire (e.g. suits and dresses). Please keep in mind that it can get cool at night so bringing a light sweater or jacket to the wedding is highly recommended. Please check the weather in Parkdale, OR closer to the date for a better idea of how cold it might be. Also, our ceremony will take place on a grassy lawn, so ladies please wear a thick heel or wedge to avoid any wardrobe mishaps.
If you are flying in, renting a car from the Portland airport is strongly advisable. As of now, there are no ubers in Hood River, so although it is a very walkable town, getting around to many of the activities and the wedding would be best with a car. With that said, we will do our best to lessen our carbon footprint and coordinate carpooling whenever possible and will have a shuttle to the venue for approximately 50 people.
Hood River can be a bit tricky when it comes to accommodations, so wherever you plan to stay, book early! We have 4 large AirBnbs booked, which are primarily for immediate family and the wedding party, but we might have space so if you are looking for a bed, feel free to ask. We also recommend AirBnb, VRBO, Adventure Lodge, Hood River Hotel, The Hampton Inn, and The Best Western. More details are available in the travel section of this website.
