Estes Park is a super charming town at the gates of Rocky Mountain National Park. It's a bit of a drive, but it's a great day trip to head up to town and maybe spend some time in the park. There's a historic downtown area, lots of fun touristy shopping areas, and tons of great dining options.
The very first place we went when we first visited Fort Collins. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing cinnamon buns.
Tacos, burritos, chips and guac, and beer! Good stuff.
Many scenic viewpoints and easily accessible paths and trails from the road, with gorgeous views of the reservoir and mountains, all very close to downtown Fort Collins.
Fort Collins is one of the original homes of craft brewing, and New Belgium is one of the leaders in local brews, with a great selection on tap and daily free tours.
The flower and comic book shop where Kelsey works part time. Brenna, the owner, is doing the flowers for our wedding, and it's a super fun little shop to browse for plants, flowers, witchy things, and home decor.
Below the bar at the Armstrong Hotel, you’ll find a swanky jazz lounge that hosts live music almost every night of the week, with acts performing ’40s swing, ’50s blues and hits from the ’60s — and most of the shows are free! Stop in for a quick listen or grab a cocktail and stay a while.
Another great brewery with free daily tours/tastings!
A bit south of Fort Collins in Loveland (where we live), Benson Sculpture Garden has over 148 world-class sculptural works of arts, and is often called “one of the 200 most important modern and contemporary art sites around the world.”
Choose from a myriad of different tours - ghost tours, speakeasy and spirits tour, and more! Tickets cost about $17. Check out what's on the schedule for that weekend!
The artisan village is comprised of several different businesses, including a home and supply store and a farm-to-fork restaurant. Check out Bindle Coffee for a great latte, grab a beer at Jessup Farm Barrel House, or have a knock-your-socks-off good dinner at the Farmhouse. A quirky, weird, and fun place to wander around!
So good! Bloom's awesome neighbors. They make a great burger, a great drink, and this incredible appetizer called The Meat Tornado. Don't question it, just do it.
Hands down our favorite restaurant in Colorado! If you're visiting Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park, make a point to stop by. The history is fascinating, too; Isabella Bird was a Scottish traveler who fell in love with the Rocky Mountain West and settled here on her own as a pioneer and self-proclaimed "cattleman."
