They give a wonderful tour with very interesting information about New Orleans and their beautiful cemeteries. You’ll learn fascinating bits of history and facts like the origin of the famous quote: “I wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole.” And you’ll learn what Hollywood celebrity has already prepared for their final resting place. Can you guess who?
There are many beautiful tours of the Garden District homes and ones that include a tour of Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. If you’ve ever watched the movie “Double Jeopardy” with Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones, this cemetery was used as a location for a key moment in the film.
Grab a delicious cocktail while taking a fun smooth ride around the bar! It’s definitely an iconic New Orleans bar inside the Hotel Monteleone! How many times can you say you had an afternoon cocktail or had a night cap while riding a carousel?
This bar inside Antoine’s Restaurant holds special significance for Lisa and her family. The bar honors the Mardi Gras Krewe of Hermes, which Lisa was the Queen of in 2009. Her sister, Danielle, was also honored as a Maid in the Royal Court back in 2004. Inside the bar hanging all along the walls you will see beautiful memorabilia from the wonderful New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewe along with pictures of their past Queens. Take a look at one of the walls and see if you can spot Lisa’s photo as Queen! They also have delicious bar snacks such as their famous soufflé potatoes! A perfect bite to go along with your cocktail.
The Columns Hotel is a historic building in New Orleans but also historic in film and television for it was used as a location for scenes in many films throughout the years for example in the film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Although over the years the interior of the hotel and bar has changed, this bar (only a few doors down from where the couple lives) holds a special place to them. Chris and Lisa shared their first kiss together in front of this beautiful hotel. The porch is definitely the best spot to sit and have a drink on a lovely Saturday or Sunday afternoon! It is recommended to make a reservation ahead of time as it is a popular place in the Uptown area.
Great place to sit outside, have a drink, and watch some football! Try their tater totchos; yes you read this correctly. Tater tots and nachos combined. It’s weird but a great bar food indulgence.
Commander’s is awesome for brunch or lunch and on weekends at their lunch they offer 25 cent martinis!!! Be careful though and make sure to pace yourself! Proper attire required if you make a reservation there so check their website about the dress code. Also make sure you get the bread pudding soufflé; this is one of Lisa’s favorite desserts in the city.
You have to try the BBQ shrimp; a “wow” for your tastebuds!! If you’re not afraid to get your hands a little messy and wear a ridiculous huge bib, you’ll truly enjoy every bite. It’s also a favorite dish of Lisa’s and Brad’s (her brother-in -law).
Delachaise is a great little wine bar along St. Charles. Lisa and Chris sometimes walk down to grab a bite to eat here and enjoy the $5 dollar wine specials of the day!
This isn’t like any wine bar, because it feels like you’re in someone’s backyard. It’s cute and lovely to go to on a nice evening. They have delicious food served out of their tiny kitchen and live music. The tables and chairs are all mismatched almost like patio furniture. It’s low key and quaint.
A great way to see some beautiful sculpture art while you stretch your legs and get some air! Lisa and Chris are especially fond of this place because they went on one of their first dates here.
Because Chris loves golf almost as much as he loves Lisa!!
A beautiful and inexpensive way to see the Garden District.
It should be newly renovated by next year.
Lisa’s and Chris’ favorite place for ice cream—try the black and gold crunch flavor or lavender honey flavor! Best and creamiest ice cream in the city with new flavors added all the time!
What’s great about this place besides the cheese selection? They create amazing sandwiches, such as Lisa’s favorite, the Hook’s Cheddar Sandwich. For those who are gluten intolerant, they have gluten free bread for your sandwiches!
Think of the most delicious cake you’ve ever had, but it’s 10 million times better! They also craft dessert inspired cocktails!!
Good spot for Brunch
Chris’ favorite BBQ
If you want to try the best Po Boy in town, this is the place. On Thursday’s they do fresh fried oyster po boy’s!! Give yourself extra time to wait in line though but it’s well worth the wait! Don’t go over there on a Monday or Tuesday, because they’ll be closed.
On the roof of the Four Seasons. 360 degree views of the city.
Very easy going bar with a great patio area, however it’s a popular spot to rent out for private parties so sometimes the patio will be closed for events.
