What does “Black Tie Preferred” Mean?

Answer

Black Tie Preferred means the couple would prefer the men to wear a tuxedo to the event. If they do not own or want to rent a tuxedo, then dark proper dress suit is required (jacket and a tie required). Women can wear a nice cocktail evening dress or a dress pantsuit.
