As we get closer to the big day, here are some important details to keep in mind: You can arrive at the Clubhouse on Highland at 12:45 PM. Please be sure to be on time. We only have a tiny window of time to celebrate with everyone and we want to begin promptly at 1:00 PM. Clubhouse on Highland is a historic home with her original hardwood floors! In order to prevent damage, they ask that anyone wearing heeled shoes ensure that heel caps are properly affixed. In general, please try to consolidate cars as much as possible to make parking easier. The restaurant on Saturday has a small parking lot. There will be valet service at Clubhouse on Highland. The after-party house will have only street parking available.
Here's the deal: we've never gotten married before. But we've talked to lots of people who have and they all tell the same story: months (or years!) of planning, stress and agonizing over every wedding detail, buckets of money spent, and, in the end, a commitment that was totally worth it. We love our families and we love each other, so we decided to skip the rest of it and get straight to the good stuff. Our wedding is deliberately small, simple, and hopefully low-stress. We think that gives us more time and energy to focus on why we are here in the first place and appreciate our family members who gave up their weekend to celebrate with us. The ceremony itself is about ten minutes, followed by a mini-reception that will bring the total time at the venue to about an hour. The night before, Daniel's parents (all four of them) have planned a tasteful dinner at a local Italian restaurant. And once we leave the wedding venue on Sunday, everyone is invited to the after party hosted by Lacy's family. It should be lots of fun, and we are really looking forward to seeing you all.
