Tim and Kyra met in the late summer of 2018 when within the same week, Kyra started volunteering in the lab Tim was working in and they both started their scientific diving class. Dive buddies in the scientific diving class were primarily determined by similarities in air consumption rates, and it just so happened Tim and Kyra breathed the same amount of air and got assigned as buddies for the semester. Between diving together for class and working in the same lab group, they spent a lot of time together that fall and the following spring, getting to know each other and becoming close friends. By the following fall they had started dating. Over the next six years with each other by their sides, they each completed their master's degrees, dove together hundreds of times from Victoria, Canada to Ensenada, Mexico, traveled to 13 national parks together, road tripped up and down the California Coast countless times, and ultimately found themselves working in the same office in Olympia, WA. They are so excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife!
