We met at a bar called 5th Ave in Royal Oak. The top floor is a dance floor which gets pretty crowded on the weekends. Paige was with a group of friends on the dance floor and then all of her friends left the dance floor leaving her alone. Kyle was also nearby dancing. While mustering up the courage to talk to Paige, his friend Kasey took over, mimicking the pick-up line from the TV show How I Met Your Mother, and said "Have you met Kyle" while proceeding to walk away and leaving Kyle and Paige together. After this encounter we exchanged numbers and leading to a first date soon after!

After dating for a couple months, Paige came up with the idea to treat Kyle to a Chris Young concert. After asking her dad if she should spend 80 dollars per ticket on Kyle, her dad replied, "Paige quit being a tight ass and just buy the tickets" After getting the push she needed she bought the tickets a couple days before the concert and told Kyle to get his cowboy boots ready. At the concert, Paige turned to Kyle midway through and asked Kyle if he wanted to be her boyfriend! He ended up saying yes.

After being in a stable relationship for a couple years. Covid lockdown happened. Kyle and Paige decided to quarantine together at Paige's apartment. After 2 months of lockdown Kyle's lease was up and Kyle decided to move into Paige's apartment. Merging our items into one place took a whole weekend, but after organizing and cleaning Paige was finally able to give up 5% of her storage space to fit Kyle's possessions. The sacrifices we make!

The lease was ending on our apartment and the search for a place that was more walkable to restaurants and events was on. Kyle had his heart set on downtown Detroit and Paige was worried about fitting all of her things in a small Detroit apartment. Kyle and Paige went to Kansas for the weekend to visit her parents. After a couple mimosas at brunch with Paige's parents and talking about finding a new place to live the idea came up that we should buy a condo in Detroit. Leaving that brunch, we decided to get a realtor and look at condos! 2 months later we were signing documents to our first condo! Both our parents came to Detroit to help us move in!

After months of our families asking when we were getting married, we started searching for engagement rings. Kyle with the help of his parents later went out and picked the perfect ring. The only problem now was trying to find a time to surprise Paige with the proposal. If anyone knows Paige, she can't resist trying to guess surprises. After Paige guessed the first 5 plus proposal ideas, Kyle decided that any thing Paige guessed would be off the table. With this in mind, he used one of the ideas she had already guessed, so she would no longer expect it. Paige's family was doing family photos and Kyle decided he would ask the question there. The surprise proposal did not go as smoothly as Kyle had hoped. At first the ring box was too large to fit into his pocket and it was instead hidden in a blanket (Later Kyle found out the ring store had pocket size ring boxes). Miscommunication lead to Paige's mom lifting up the blanket and the ring box falling to the ground. Everyone looked at the box and no one said anything and it was put back in the car. This first alerted Paige to the possibility of what might be happening. As part of Kyle's plan, he "accidentally" left his sunglasses at a spot to "find" later at the end of the photoshoot. Of course, after trying to leave them at the spot, Paige reminded him to not forget the sunglasses. Finally, her parents used the excuse that we left one of Paige's niece's toys somewhere. Now with her alone Kyle popped the question. Paige's family then pulled out the champagne glasses and sparkling wine to celebrate. Let the planning begin!
