Have you reserved blocks of hotel rooms in Madison, SD?

Answer

Yes, we have rooms blocked at the Best Western and AmericInn. It is imperative to reserve a room before June; Once the rooms are released, it will be difficult to reserve one anywhere in Madison, as the town has numerous events occurring that same weekend. For our "outdoorsy" guests, or those looking for a budget friendly option, please note that Lake Herman State Park is a short drive across the lake with numerous campsites and 4 camping cabins. More info under the "Travel" tab.

I have never been to Madison, SD. What is there to do?

Answer

We realize so many of you will be traveling from out of town. First of all, we thank you so much for making the trip! We want nothing more than for you to make the most of your time away from home and spend quality time with your loved ones. We have made a "Things to Do" page on our wedding website. You will see it on the tabs above. We have chosen a variety of activities, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, & frequent events within an hour of the reception hall for you to explore & enjoy. Some of them are very sentimental to us (especially those in Brookings), & others are just a good time. Links for suggestions are provided for your convenience.

What time will your reception end?

Our wedding reception will conclude at 12:00 am. For those staying on site, quiet hours will begin at 12:00 am as well.

Are there any shuttle services in Madison?

Answer

Yes, we will be providing a shuttle service for guests from the reception to hotels in Madison throughout the night.

Can we leave our vehicle at Prairie Shores overnight?

Answer

Yes. We want everyone to get home safe and do not want anyone drinking and driving. Prairie Shores allows guests to leave their vehicles on site until 11 am Sunday morning.

Can I bring a Guest?

Answer

Due to the capacity of the venue, we ask that you only bring those specifically listed on your invitation. We hope you are able to use our big day as a "Parent's Night Out" if you have little ones.

Where are you registered at?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is genuinely the greatest gift you could give! However, if you would like to contribute a tangible gift, we are registered at Target and Amazon. To find them, select the "Registry" tab to find the links. Thank you in advance for your attendance and/or support.

Anything else that is good to know?

Answer

Outside alcohol is not permitted inside or near the reception building. For family staying the weekend on site, please keep it in your cabin/campsite areas! Glass containers are also prohibited. Additionally, no one is allowed on the beach once social hour begins, as they do not have a lifeguard on duty. We will be fined HEAVILY if any of these things happen! Thank you for understanding.
