FAQs

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to Kurt and Krysy via email or call/text. Happy to help!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Early RSVPs are greatly appreciated so respond once you know you can (or can't) attend. RVSP deadline is May 8, 2023.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Your RSVP will indicate if there is a plus one. Our capacity is limited so we had to prioritize family over additional guests. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love kids - seriously. However, we are asking to have our wedding be a kid-free event. That being said if you're unable to find child care arrangements, let us know and we'll work something out.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Totally up to you! Dogs are not allowed at Lizard Creek Lodge but they are allowed at other places to stay, like the Grizz Inn. They cannot come to the wedding though (sorry).

Question

What do I need to enter Canada?

Answer

Luckily, it is a very simple process. You'll need a valid passport (no visa required) or an enhanced license for those coming from the USA. Most of the COVID-19 restrictions have been dropped and it is no longer required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test. Restrictions may change as we get closer to our wedding date and we'll update things here as they develop.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We highly encourage you to stay at the Lizard Creek Condominiums or at another hotel at Fernie Alpine Resort. Most of our wedding events will be in that area plus that way you don't have to worry about driving anywhere after the reception! Krysy & Kurt will reach out to specific guests that will be staying in the Lizard Creek Lodge.

Question

Can I come early or extend my trip?

Answer

Absolutely! We hope you'll make it into a full adventure trip - there is so much to explore near Fernie. Camping and lodging opportunities are endless. You'll also have access to our discounted rates if you want to come early or stay longer at the Lizard Creek Lodge & Condos.

Question

What's the weather like in Fernie?

Answer

It is lovely! Expect (hopefully) sunny weather with the average temps for July around 78F. Our Ceremony is at the top of the lift so it might be slightly breezy. Cocktails are outdoors on the Cirque patio and the Reception is indoors.

Question

Can I bring my bike?

Answer

Absolutely. Bring your bike, kayak, fishing gear, whatever toys you want! We're hoping our guests take full advantage of what Fernie has to offer. Please be aware that many hotels do not allow bikes inside their room so they will need to remain locked in / to your vehicle or to an outside bike rack. Lizard Creek Lodge & Condos does have secured garage parking.

Question

Will there be parking available at the resort?

Answer

Yes, free parking is available for guests at Lizard Creek Lodge & Condos at Fernie Alpine Resort. If you are bringing an RV, there are RV-designated sites at the Resort that are first come or there is RV parking in the town of Fernie to book in advance.

Question

Is there a shuttle to/from the resort to downtown?

Answer

Unfortunately, the town shuttle doesn't run during the summer so you'll have to get downtown (and to all your adventures) via car or taxi. Don't worry the ceremony/reception is based at the resort right next to lodging so you won't have to worry about driving after partying on the big day.

Question

How do we get to the ceremony?

Answer

Great question! Our ceremony is going to be at the top of the Elk Lift, which is next to the Lizard Creek Lodge. There will be plenty of signage to help you get around. The free chairlift ride (yes, that is the only way there other than hiking) is around 20 minutes and about a 5-minute walk to the ceremony. Please don't wear stilettos, it is a dirt trail at the top. You'll be provided with a Lift Ticket in your Welcome Bag - you'll need to bring it with you to the lift!

Question

How do we get to the Reception?

Answer

You take the chairlift back down, silly. Our Cocktail Hour will be on the deck of the Cirque Restaurant and the Reception will be right inside.

Question

Why is there an hour break between the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour?

Answer

To accommodate the lifts closing, we had to have our ceremony a little earlier than normal. That being said, you can use that hour break to spend time at the top of the lift, freshen up (or take a nap) and we will see you at the cocktail hour!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our Ceremony & Reception are cocktail attire. Expect to ride a chair lift and walk on a (short) dirt path for the Ceremony. There may be a slight breeze at the top. There will be a break after the Ceremony for you to freshen up. The Cocktails will be outside on the Cirque patio and our Reception will be right inside.

Question

What about COVID-19 restrictions for the wedding?

Answer

While our wedding is still very far away, we are still in a pandemic. We will assess the situation as we get closer to our wedding and update you with any details. We ask all of our guests to be vaccinated. We want our wedding to be a safe place for everyone to feel comfortable and have a great time!
