Haldi by the Beach

9:00 am - 11:00 am

Dress code - Casual Indian in pastel colors.

Haldi ceremony is a perfect blend of tradition and fun. It’s one of a kind celebration where a paste prepared with turmeric (haldi), curd, sandalwood, and gram flour is rubbed onto the bride’s and groom’s skin before a ceremonial bath. Haldi holds a significant meaning in Indian wedding rituals. The ritual is meant to prepare the bride and groom for the wedding. The color yellow is associated with new beginnings, peace and happiness. It is considered an auspicious color after the color red in Indian culture. Gradually, the ceremony turns playful as after elders finish applying haldi on bride and groom friends and cousins start to smear the bride and groom with haldi. Our haldi ceremony will have an on-the-spot Holi (at the beach) or petal shower with flowers. The ceremony ends with the elders blessing the bride and the groom as they prepare themselves for a new beginning.
