There’s two age old sayings people believe to be true: “Nothing good happens at 2am” & “there’s no such thing as love at first sight.” However in this story, both are wrong. Casey was trying to get more experience within her major before graduating so in the final semester of college, she showed up at an organization called Penn State Sports Night to get more on-air opportunities in sports. While waiting for it to begin she watched a tall handsome man walk into the room, the energy just drew to him, surrounded by friends, he lit up a room. Casey’s first thought was he has to have a girlfriend. Her next, if he’s not, I’m going to marry him. She would later come to find out his name was Evan, and the latter of those statements would be true. At this point they hadn’t even spoken yet, that came later that night when Casey was invited out by a girl in Evan’s friend group to what she would become to know as weekly wing night. However, this was at a bar and Casey wasn’t expecting to need her ID, but not wanting to miss the chance to potentially meet Evan, she raced home to get her ID and headed back out. Getting there late, Casey sat two seats down from Evan, the two proceeded to talk behind the chair between them all night. When things were winding down Evan asked Casey for her Snapchat (can you tell it was 2021??) and the two went separate ways. Casey went home and told her roommate she thought she met a really great guy that night. Five nights later that same roommate would see large male shoes outside her door and ask if it was the same guy. Casey told that roommate that it was, he asked her to go get Sheetz at 2am but she already had pasta salad on the stove so she invited him over. A perfect gentleman, the two talked all night, about every topic they could, Evan not even trying to steal a kiss. That came later, as did Evan convincing her it was a good idea to start dating even with only a few months left in college. Which turned out to be just as good of an idea of breaking one of her mother’s golden rules, “nothing good happens after 2am.”
It was back in 2021 when Evan logged into one of his zoom classes, and him being single and ready to mingle took a look at everybody in the class to see if there were any baddies. Thats when he first laid eyes on Casey. Fast forward a couple of weeks and Evan walks into a weekly club meeting and sees a girl that he recognized but couldn't tell where from. The meeting goes by and he realized she was the beautiful girl from class and he was hoping that she would come to wing night with the group. She was very late (a now common theme of their relationship) but she got there! Evan spent the night talking with Casey but tried not to come on too strong. At some point in their conversation, Evan said they often go out as a group and asked Casey for her Snapchat so she could join. Evan to this day says this is the smoothest he has ever been. After waiting the How I Met Your Mother required rule of waiting three days to text, he finally messaged her. After countless messages back and forth, Evan asked Casey if she wanted to get food at 2:00 a.m., she said no but he should come over and hangout. After a long night of talking, movie watching and just getting to know each other, Evan knew there was something special about Casey. What followed was weeks of Evan courting Casey and convincing her that starting a relationship right before graduation would be a great idea. They started officially dating exactly four wing nights after that initial meeting.
