Courthouse Gardens
The Courthouse is a beautiful building in downtown Santa Barbara that showcases the unique architecture of the city. We've picnicked in the Sunken Gardens, and love the view from the courthouse's tower.
Old Mission Santa Barbara
The Old Mission is beautiful and interesting in it's own right, and also provides a great backdrop for hanging out at the Rose Garden, located just across the street. One of our first dates was a picnic among the roses!
Stearns Wharf
The pier is a great stopping point when walking around downtown; you can choose to go to an ice cream shop, Deep Sea Winery, Char West Burgers, or just walk to the end and watch the fisherman. The best time to go is sunrise and sunset - be sure to turn back to look at the mountains as well as the ocean!
More Mesa
More Mesa is a great place to go for a long meandering (read: get lost) walk along the bluffs. You can spot trail bikers, horse riders, and garden snakes; we often go here for evening runs! The beach is also beautiful and can be accessed from the bluffs... just be aware there's a nude section!
Inspiration Point
We love hiking in and around our hometown! Inspiration Point is one of the more popular trails, as it doesn't take too long to do and gives you amazing views at the top of Santa Barbara and the ocean!
Leadbetter Beach
With "110 miles of pristine coastline," Santa Barbara has plenty of beaches to choose from! Leadbetter, Butterfly and Hendry's are among our favorites.
Lizards Mouth Rock
Lizard's Mouth is great for rock-hopping fun and looking out over spectacular views!
Douglas Family Preserve
We just go here for the dogs, but the views are pretty epic too :)
