We met half a lifetime ago, when we were both on the track team in high school, but it wasn't until years later when we were both visiting friends in San Luis Obispo for Memorial Day Weekend that we bumped into each other again.
Back in January, Kristin and Robby had travelled together to Montana to snowboard, ski, and find the perfect teal sapphire for a ring; the rest of the design was up to Robby, and he nailed it! With a lot of help from their families, and despite covid-related delays, Robby managed to pull off a surprise proposal at Kristin's childhood home. The sun was setting, the trees were golden, Kristin was clueless, and the moment was perfect.
...because everyone deserves to plan a proposal, and get proposed to! Kristin organized a "Painted Cabernet" at home, quarantine-style. At the end of the evening, when they turned their canvases toward each other to show off their masterpieces, Kristin had written the words, "Robby, will you marry me?" across her painting. The stars were out, the city lights glittered, Robby was clueless, and the moment was perfect.
