Kristin and Paul met in May 2018, when they discovered they lived, literally, around the block from each other in Brooklyn. Somehow Paul had never seen beautiful, alluring Kristin walking Noon, her Maltese, and Kristin had never seen tall, handsome, rugged Paul running or otherwise working out on Waverly Street. (Paul is writing this, by the way.) After hitting it off over text, they agreed to a first date. Little did Paul know he had been double booked and Kristin had another date later that evening. Little did Kristin know that she would end up canceling that date and spending six hours talking, drinking, laughing, and smooching with Paul. Soon after, Paul told his therapist, "I'm going to marry that girl." While his therapist expressed appropriate concern over what Paul now admits might have been a premature conclusion, he says he had a feeling—a really good one—about Kristin. Kristin, meanwhile, was weighing a career advancing move that would take her to San Francisco — but was torn about leaving behind Paul, who she had quickly grown close to. They realized that it would take effort if they wanted to stay together—so that's what they put in. After a whirlwind summer celebrating weddings of dear friends in Maine, New Jersey, and New Mexico, Kristin packed up her apartment with the help of her loving Dad. Following a Martha's Vineyard Labor Day vacation, she temporarily moved in with Paul until her move to SF. Paul started making plans to join her, and seven months later, in June 2019 he did, realizing his California dreams and desire to be with the woman he loved. A year later, after exploring the California coast and adopting the sweetest dog, Bambi, they drove cross-country to ride out the pandemic with her parents on the shores of Lake Ontario. On a crisp, upstate New York day the week before Thanksgiving and the day after Kristin finished her job to accept an exciting new career challenge, Paul proposed to her on the banks of Seneca Lake.
