Things To Do

Here's a few places you just have to see while you're in Evanston.

The Wine Goddess

702 Main Street, Evanston, IL 60202
, (847) 475-9463

These folks are like family. The Wine Goddess was the place we celebrated our engagement and the place we eloped.... basically, if it wasn't celebrated at Wine Goddess, it didn't happen! Stop by on Friday or Saturday and say our names at the door for a glass of complementary bubbly on us!

FRÍO Gelato - Evanston

1301 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201
, (847) 868-8767

Nothing beats the Chicago summer heat like our own local Argentinian gelato!

Merrick Rose Garden

1426 Oak Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201
, (847) 448-4311

One of our favorite spots for a summer picnic.

Hewn

1733 Central Street, Evanston, IL 60201
, (847) 869-4396

The best bakery in town, and our favorite place for Sunday morning pastries.

Lighthouse Beach

Evanston, IL 60201

One of the prettiest spots on Evanston's lakefront.

Evanston Farmers' Market

1800 Maple Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201
, (847) 448-8045

Consider stopping by the market to pick up something tasty and local for breakfast.

obama portrait exhibit art institute of chicago

111 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603
, (312) 443-3600

The Art Institute is one of our favorite date spots. If you haven't had a chance to see the Obama Portraits in person, they'll be here during our wedding week, and they are a must-see! Go to celebrate our forever president and first lady, as well as two Meyer family favorite painters, Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley, and while you're there, don't miss the Bisa Butler exhibit! Fair warning though, our wedding happens during Lollapalooza weekend, so downtown Chicago will be a madhouse!
