FAQs

Question

How can we keep this party COVID-safe?

Answer

You're our favorite people, and we want to make sure everyone stays healthy while celebrating, especially our more medically vulnerable guests. We respectfully request that all of our adult guests be vaccinated if they plan to attend our celebration, and we ask that all guests bring masks along. The venue will not require you to wear them, but we'd like everyone to have one on hand in case guests find that they are more comfortable wearing one. There are currently no COVID restrictions at the venue, but since the bride is a passionate public health professional, she would have a full emotional breakdown if she accidentally hosted a super spreader event. Above all, since everyone's health situation/ risk level is different, please don't hesitate to communicate about your personal distance preferences with other guests. And, maybe ask before going in for that hug :)

Question

How should I get to Firehouse Chicago, and where should I park?

Answer

Firehouse Chicago is a very short drive or lyft ride from Evanston. The venue has a dedicated parking lot close by (Hayt Elementary, 1518 W Granville Ave). The venue is about a 3 minute walk from the parking lot. Street parking on Rosemont in front of the venue is not permitted.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We encourage garden party/ semi formal attire (think sundresses and light suits/pants), but really, anything other than cargo shorts is welcome. Chicago summers can get hot and humid, so please dress comfortably for the heat.

Question

What if I hate being hot/ hanging out in the sun?

Answer

We plan to have much of our event outdoors in the venue's courtyard. The courtyard is heavily shaded, so guests who are sensitive to sun should have no problem finding a shady place to hang out. The indoor portion of the venue has AC, and will be available for our guests the entire time for anyone who needs to come in and cool off.
