When Kristin highlighted her love of wine and cheese on her online profile, Charley asked her to describe her ideal cheese board in 10,000 words or less. After Kristin used up just about every one, Charley knew he had connected with someone as vivacious and long-winded as himself. They appropriately shared a cheese board together on their first date, and fell in love over their shared love of books, music, travel, art, and irreverent humor. To this day, Charley is Kristin's favorite person to eat cheese with.

On a beautiful mid-september day, Charley set off for a bike ride while Kristin prepared the most important cheese board of her life for a secret proposal picnic. She stopped by Michael and Abbey's house, asked Sam if she could have the honor of being his Aunt K forever, and then went to Wine Goddess to chill a special bottle of celebration bubbly to enjoy after the proposal. At a beautiful lakefront park, Kristin proposed, and Charley said yes, and then cried for so long that the Wine Goddess staff got nervous that the proposal hadn't gone as planned.

After getting engaged, we set a date in July 2020 for our wedding. Annnnd then the pandemic hit. While the wedding celebration had to be delayed, we just couldn't wait to be married, so we didn't! We quietly eloped outside the Wine Goddess on July 31, 2020, and it was the best choice we could have made.

After a long year of anticipation and separation from those we love, we couldn't be more excited to mark the occasion of our first anniversary surrounded by the people we've been missing so much.
