Guests of the Hilton are able to reserve Palapas, Poolapas, and Cabanas ahead of their visit starting in mid March. Guests may also be able to reserve a Palapa for the following day at around 12:30pm at the towel hut. In our experience, if you're interested in using a beach Palapa for a specific day, it's very convenient to reserve it ahead of time. Octopus Aruba has a number of pick up and drop off locations along the stretch of beach the Hilton is on. For smaller groups (six or less), we recommend the Donut boats where you can be your own captain and cruise up and down the coast at your leisure. See the website for all options and details.
The lighthouse on the northwestern part of the island is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Aruba. Visit it from land or sea and try to time yourself a sunset. From the top of the lighthouse you have an unbelievable 360 degree view of the island.
For the late night crowd, take a walk along the beach and follow the music and you'll find your way to the Moomba Bar. Drinks, dancing, good music, and that Aruban ocean breeze. There's not a better way to cap off your night no matter where you had dinner.
A perfect spot for a late lunch to get a small reprieve from the sun. Aruba is known for their happy hours and if you time it right you'll drink all afternoon at 2 for 1 rates. Just like every spot on this side of the island, the sunset from here is amazing. At night, they have live entertainment as well.
On your way out of town, give yourself plenty of time to go through Aruba and U.S. customs in the airport. This way you have time to grab a pre-flight cocktail at One Happy Bar. It is an end-of-vacation ritual for us and it should be for you as well!
