we're getting married

Katie and Jack first crossed paths long before either of them imagined a wedding day, at a pool party the summer before 9th grade in 2009. Katie walked away with an instant crush, convinced Jack barely noticed her. Jack, however, still swears he remembers exactly what she was wearing: a yellow polka-dot bikini that clearly made a lasting impression. Throughout high school, they were a constant in each other's lives, sharing classes, notes, and the occasional group project. While they remained close friends at the time, there was always a spark between them. Every year, Katie would ask Jack to be her partner in the annual dance recital for the guy-girl routine, and every year, Jack was right there by her side on the dance floor. After graduation, life sent them in different directions, but their friendship eventually found its way back. In March 2017, they finally went on their first real date, and by May 2018, they made it official. The years that followed were full of adventure and "everyday magic." They called several corners of San Diego home, explored new cities near and far, and even survived the long months of the pandemic indoors, proving that whether they were traveling the world or binge-watching on the couch, they were happiest just being together. In 2024, the adventure of a lifetime led them to Florence, Italy, where Jack planned an unforgettable proposal. It was the easiest "Yes" of Katie's life. We chose Villa de Amore as our venue because its Italian-inspired beauty reminds us so much of that special day in Florence. Each of you has played a part in our story over the last fifteen years, and we truly cannot wait to celebrate the start of our "forever" with the people we love most.
