If you have time to enjoy the beach and shopping during your visit, it is recommended that you stay in the Destin/Ft Walton Beach area. If you are only going to stay for the night of the wedding, it's advisable that you stay in Crestview. Also, know that hotels are much more affordable in Crestview versus Ft. Walton Beach/Destin. During the summer, traffic in Ft. Walton Beach/Destin is extremely congested. Be sure to keep this in mind when scheduling activities.
