Farmer's market season will be in full swing! If you'd like something to do Saturday morning, this is it. They're open 7:30am-12:00pm. So many amazing vendors, great eats, and live music!
FilmScene, the local nonprofit cinema, has a summer series called "FilmScene in the Park" where they show outdoor screenings in the park next to the theater. This is the place to be (in Ella's humble opinion) on a summer Saturday night in Iowa City! "Sandlot" is showing on July 25th at 8:30pm!
Just down the street from our venue! A beautiful apple orchard with fun activities. They'll have a few apple varieties available in late July, but it's really prime cherry and blueberry season. Lots of flowers and a great market too!
What makes Iowa City a "city"! The downtown district has so many restaurants, shops, theaters, museums, and cafes. One too many college bars, but it's also the go-to for the local arts! On a summer weekend, there's a 75% chance some sort of festival or event is happening.
Did you know Iowa City used to be the state's capital? The Old Capital is the heart of the University of Iowa's main campus, sitting in the middle of the Pentacrest (the university's version of the main quad). Take a walk-in tour of the Old Capital Museum, or an impromptu stroll around campus to see our alma mater! Located right across the street from the downtown district.
Our favorite winery! Great eats, fun wine and whiskey flights, and they often have live music. A little bit outside of IC in Swisher, IA. A good place to see the rolling hills of rural Iowa! Ella's suggested pairing: Sweet n' Spicy pizza and a glass of Harvest Blush
One of the better breweries! Not in IC, but close by in North Liberty, IA. Great food and drinks and very family-friendly! Konner's suggested pairing: Chicken wings, Brussels sprouts, and a pint of Citrus Smurfer
