After 16 years of being by myself, the good Lord allowed our paths to finally cross. People couldn't believe us that Facebook had a dating section, but they do. Jamie's profile indicated a Wichita location, and I hesitated because of the distance, but his profile picture was cute, so I swiped left. We were a match! I did not hear from him for couple days until he wrote back and commented on one of my hiking pictures. We worked opposite hours, so I was asleep when he'd write, and he'd be asleep when I responded. He often replied after hours, so at first, I thought he was one of those creeps. He thoroughly explained he worked the second shift and would be home after midnight. OK, that explains why his responses were always after midnight. LOL. End of August 2022, we chatted thru FB dating and shared our plans for Labor Day weekend. I was off to an EDM festival in Chicago and him, Bella and Momma Vong was off to Colorado for some hiking. We shared our photos from our trips, and I asked for his number so I could text him photos. We agreed to finally meet on October 14. Jamie and Bella drove up from Wichita, and I took him around town. We had a first good meet. I extended an invitation to see if he'd be my date for my cousin's wedding. We did not see each other until November when our planes took us to meet in St. Louis. That trip would be the start of many trips together. We had a long-distance relationship for 2 years. I introduced him to traveling and we traveled 2023 and 2024. December of 2024, we decided it's time to make it official for my move to Wichita. We spoke to our moms and agreed to do the Hmong wedding first. February 15, 2025, was also Jamie's 44th birthday and our Hmong wedding day. We were surrounded by family and friends from near and far to see us be culturally married. If you got to the bottom of our love story, we will be getting legally married in our favorite state, Colorado September 5, 2026, in the mountains.
