Our Story

It all started sometime in 2010...

Nicholas is convinced it was at his brother Ronnie’s high school graduation party. Miranda’s pretty sure it was at a baseball field. Both stories could be right, but we’ll agree to disagree. Isn’t that what marriage is all about? Either way, we have Miranda’s dad, Rick, and Nicholas’s stepdad, Scott, to thank for everything. Our families became fast friends through years of little league baseball, with Scott and Rick coaching Miranda’s brothers, Tanner & Easton, and Scott's niece and nephew, Abby & Tyler. From dugouts to post-game pool parties at Pappy Klein’s, our lives were overlapping long before we were officially in each other’s. After one of those summer parties, we finally exchanged numbers, and just like that, we started dating. (The first time.) Big thanks to Rick, who unknowingly introduced his teenage daughter to her future husband. Every dad’s dream! We were high schoolers in love, soaking up joint family vacations and the thrill of a “real” relationship…until we weren’t. If you ask Nicholas, he’ll say Miranda broke up with him right before his junior prom. (He’s not wrong.) Life took us in different directions for a bit after that. Nicholas headed off to play college baseball, Miranda chased her degrees, and although we didn’t completely lose touch, we were on separate paths. Fast forward a few years: Ronnie reached out to Miranda asking for a work favor. She said yes, of course, but when she saw both Ronnie and Nicholas cc’ed on the email, she figured she should give Nicholas a heads up. That first message sparked everything that followed, and we haven’t looked back since. After the time apart, it turns out all we needed was a little nudge, a reminder of what had always been there. Life took us in different directions so we could grow, learn, and become the people we needed to be for ourselves, and eventually, for each other. When we found our way back, we were finally ready for the love we’d always been meant to share. Over the past five years, we’ve grown into something so much more than anything we could’ve imagined back at that graduation party (or baseball field, depending on who you ask). Our relationship is built on inside jokes, shared playlists, and the kind of comfort that only comes from knowing each other’s hearts for as long as we have. We’ve spent countless weekends at the South Side house with the Baldwin crew, revived the iconic Klein-Wolf-Bernick family vacations, moved to Charlotte, adopted Bettis, and took a two-week trip to Italy that we loved so much, we decided to get married there. We’ve shared so many chapters, and we’re thankful for every one that’s brought us here. Our life is full of love and laughter, and we have all of you to thank for being part of it. We can’t wait to celebrate our forever with the closest people in our lives. Cin cin! 🥂
