The Vancouver is a great immersive experience especially if you have little ones in your group. It is Canada's largest aquarium with over 65000 animals. They focus on animal rehabilitation, marine conservation and education. This is where Kleanza first discovered her love for Sea Otters!
*Please note there is an event happening at Stanley Park August 8th so this is an August 6th or 9th activity! One of my most favourite activities has always been biking around the Sea Wall of Stanley Park (9km or 5.5 miles). Denman Street in downtown Vancouver has many bike shops but this link will take you to one that we have rented from before. They usually have maps available to get you to the start of the loop. The ride is mostly flat and incredibly scenic!
I know not everyone loves swimming as much of Kleanza does but this pool is worth mentioning because it outdoors and beautiful. I think it'd make a great stop with kids or just to cool off. It's also right next to Second Beach, so you could easily enjoy some time by the ocean before or after as well!
I (Kleanza) have gone here a lot since I was a teenager because I fell in love with swimming in the Clear green water and hanging out for a day in the sun. There are many many stairs to get down (what goes down must come back up in this case) but you don't even have to do the full 2.4 km or 1.5 mi loop trail to enjoy beautiful swimming holes, water falls and the Lynn Canyon Suspension bridge. The park is free but you do need to pay for parking. It's a half hour drive from downtown Vancouver if you've rented a car or even if you got a ride for a day trip I think it is well worth it.
Granville Island is a really cool part of Vancouver with a public market, different food options, boutiques, trinkets and sometimes you'll catch some street performances. Perfect for the person who likes to walk and browse. To make this an even cuter experience you can catch one of the small ferries that run frequently everyday from the City and get you to the shops in Minutes. The link for the ferries website is linked here.
