Bike or hike the WinMan Trails
Start your day with a bike or hike utilizing the incredible trails of WinMan. WinMan offers 23+ miles of single-track mountain biking and 7+ miles of hiking and trail running trails, with options for beginners to advanced. Bike rentals are available at Rivers Edge Adventure Company in Manitowish, which is located right on the WinMan trail, or Coontail in Boulder Junction, a 20 minute drive from Manitowish Waters. If you are staying in Minocqua, the 18-mile Bearskin Trail is a closer, similar option.
Run a river...
If river sports are more your thing, visit Rivers Edge Adventure Company between Manitowish Waters and Mercer. They have a great location on the river and offer all kinds of activities including kayaks and tubing. Their local experts can help you plan an incredible day (or a couple of hours) that suits the skills and abilities of your group. Visit the North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters, a nature-based education and community center bursting with activities for all ages including interactive exhibits and live animal ambassadors. Climb up to the eagle nest, dive under the beaver lodge, and put your naturalist skills to the test in their replica research cabin! Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari in Minocqua offers a similar experience.
Get out on the lake!
Rent a jet ski, motorboat or pontoon boat at Greers Pier marina in the heart of the chain of lakes in Manitowish. While you are there, stop by Greer’s Lower Unit Bar and Grille, a unique, on- water open air restaurant featuring cantina-inspired cocktails and grill classics such as burgers, brats and tacos. Grab lunch, relax and watch the boats go by!

Visit the site of the John Dillinger - FBI Shootout
Are you a history buff? In the 1920’s and 1930’s the Northwoods served as a haven for Chicago gangsters. Visit Little Bohemia Lodge, the site of John Dillinger and the Dillinger Gang's epic shootout with the F.B.I. The Lodge is also the modern day filming location for the Universal Studios film starring Johnny Depp as John Dillinger, PUBLIC ENEMIES. Stop by the lodge and museum to see the original bullet holes from the shootout or take the Dillinger Pontoon Tour on Friday, August 22nd . While you are at the lodge, grab a drink or dinner overlooking Little Star Lake, a favorite of the Jones family.
