Ryan claims Wooden Robot has the best craft beer in Charlotte & many others agree. They have an in-house, food-truck-style menu with delicious options. You can walk to other breweries & awesome spots like Hoppin' (a self-pour bar with 62 taps) and Seoul Food Meat Company (Korean-inspired BBQ restaurant with a great patio).
Town Brewing is the first brewery in Ryan & Kelly's neighborhood! They have great beer & food. Town shares a parking lot with Rhino Market & Deli. Rhino is a funky spot with tons of local food and drinks. When you're ready for food you HAVE to walk over to Pinky's Westside Grill. Pinky's has been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives twice & is located in an old Volkswagen auto repair shop (get a burger...). Not within walking distance, but just 0.5 miles up the road is Lucky Dog Bark & Brew, which is a bar where people can let their dogs run around freely as they drink!
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is one of Charlotte's first breweries, it has lots of parking and a full food menu. It's a further drive than the other options, but a really cool spot. All the beer, food and decor is German-style, and their beer garden is awesome. Kelly could live off OMB's pretzels & beer cheese (best in Charlotte). From OMB, you can walk to three other breweries, a cidery, distillery, and game bar.
