Kelly & Ryan are both Bonnies, and had the same majors in undergrad & grad school. They shared the same friend group at school, so this wedding might resemble a college reunion. They did not start dating until after college. Kelly moved to Chapel Hill, and Ryan moved to Charlotte. Shortly after their moves to NC, they started dating long-distance. In early 2015, Kelly got a new job and moved to Charlotte. The rest is history!

Kelly & Ryan were heading to Chapel Hill for a sporting event (a common occurrence). This particular trip was a little different because it was Easter weekend, and Kelly’s grandparents were in Chapel Hill at her aunt & uncle’s house. On the way to the house, they stopped at UNC’s football stadium so Ryan could see the new stadium seats. Then Ryan wanted to stop at the Old Well on UNC’s campus (which they had been to a dozen times before). At the Old Well, Ryan talked about wanting to see Dean Smith’s grave (former head coach for UNC basketball). At this point, Kelly is sick of the Tour de UNC and just wants to get to her uncle’s house. Then Ryan got down on one knee and proposed! They celebrated with family all weekend, and Ryan had many surprises planned.
