In 2014, we were both living in Philadelphia; Sarah was attending graduate school at Drexel University and Bob was working as an Environmental Engineer. Like any good millennial love story starts, we met on Tinder! Sarah initiated conversation, and after a few weeks of chatting back and forth, we met in person. After a drink at a bar which had a cat wandering around inside (Bob is highly allergic...oops) we headed to a cat-less bar, Prohibition Taproom, for a few more drinks and the rest is history! We are so excited to head back to the city where we fell in love to celebrate our wedding with all our friends and loved ones!
Man plans, God laughs. After two failed proposal attempts in Wisconsin that were supposed to happen in April 2020 and June 2020, Bob finally was able to get down on one knee Labor Day Weekend 2020! To those of you that kept all three proposals a secret, Bob appreciates you...but Sarah doesn't trust you (you're too good at lying). We had plans to go to Wisconsin to visit Sarah's family and friends Labor Day Weekend, but we decided to cancel last minute; thanks COVID! Sarah was quite upset at yet another failed trip, so Bob suggested we take a weekend trip to somewhere we could drive to, and Sarah picked Portsmouth, New Hampshire! We had a great weekend together exploring local breweries and eating all the lobster rolls, popovers, and seafood chowder we could handle. But the best part of the weekend occurred Sunday evening. On our walk to dinner, Bob suggested that we veer down a cute street with brick storefronts covered in ivy. About half way down the street (in front of the Salt Cellar) Bob turned to Sarah, asked for her mask (which she handed over without question for some reason?), got down on one knee and proposed! After some happy tears, Sarah of course said "YES!"
