Plan for Travel Delays
PLEASE BE ADVISED train delays, traffic, and sudden weather changes are all very common in NY this time of year, and it's expected to be a busy weekend due to several major events in the area. Please plan for extra travel time! We recommend you take the subway, a cab, or car service to the venue. Akwaaba Mansion (347 MacDonough St) is in the middle of the residential neighborhood, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Parking will be VERY limited. The venue is 4 blocks from the Utica Avenue C train, about a 20 min cab ride from the Hampton Inn, and about a 40min cab ride from JFK or Laguardia.

The wedding venue is in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, so we recommend you stay in Brooklyn to minimize your travel time to/from the venue. (Traffic and train delays are common, so the closer you stay the better!) There are many options, both budget friendly and luxury, through Airbnb, VRBO, small hotels, and locally owned bed & breakfasts. BOOK ASAP We've been advised it will be a busy weekend due to the US Open and a UN event. Affordable options will sell out soon!
Flight
Traveling By Plane
La Guardia or JFK are the closest airports, about a 40min drive or cab ride to the wedding venue. You may find affordable flights into Newark, NJ, but keep in mind it is in another state and a bit of trek! We recommend searching google flights for the most affordable options.
Train
Taking the Subway
Akwaaba Mansion (347 MacDonough St) is in the middle of the residential neighborhood, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Parking will be VERY limited, but it is just 4 blocks from the Utica Avenue C train. Train delays are COMMON so please plan extra travel time. This subway station has an elevator at northwest corner of Fulton Street and Malcolm X Boulevard.
